PGA Championship
Everyone on Earth all have something in there lives that they really look forward to. In my mind having something to look forward to is very important because when you are having a bad day you will always be cheered up by the fact that you are one day closer to that very special moment. Multiple people look forward to multiple things but the one thing I love to do each year is to watch the PGA Championship.
In golf there are four major tournaments, The Masters, The U.S. Open, The British Open, and finally The PGA Championship. In my mind the PGA Championship is the best tournament of them all because all the players know that The PGA championship is there last chance to win a major tournament, witch brings out the best in each player. If you made a list of all the history made at the PGA Championship the list would never seam to end because history is made there every single year. It all started in 1916 when Rodman Wanamaker had an idea to fund a golf tournament for all of the best players. Since then the great challenges the PGA’s courses have brought have been ones not even some of the best players can handle. At the end of each tournament it is always great to see the emotions of the winning player as they look upon Rodman’s great creation and in the end they will be able to finally hold the Wanamaker trophy.
Although watching the Tournament on T.V. is very exciting nothing is like actually seeing it in person. Last year I was privileged enough to actually see the tournament live at Hazeltine golf club in Minneapolis Minnesota. The first day that I saw the Championship I just went to a practice round, but it was still very fun because I got a better chance to tour the course and get autographs from all the players as they hit there practice shots. Then finally two days latter I got to go the Thursday round, the first round of the tournament. We had great spots right near the green of the first hole witch I liked because I got to see the first shots of the tournament and I was right next to the clubhouse area if we ever wanted something to eat. All in all it was an experience I will never forget.
The feeling you get when you are doing something you love to do is always amazing. There is something about it that makes you think that everything is great with the world. The PGA Championship is in Wisconsin this year so you bet that I will be there again. In the end I don’t think it generally matters weather you go to the PGA Championship or not because weather you watch it on T.V. or in person the experience is always a great one.
