Millions of kids go to school every single week day and each of them have there own different personalities that they are known for having. Unfortually Melinda the main character in the book Speak is not known for the kind of thinks she would like to be known for.
In the book Speak there is a girl named Melinda who did something over the summer that makes everyone in the school including her best friends highly dislike her. The book is narrated by Melinda herself who talks about all of her middle school situations as an outcast. Melinda's situation goes from bad to worse as the book goes on because not only does she have problems with popularity she also does not get good grades in school in which does not please her parents. Through the book the author never tells the reader what exactly happened at the supposed party over the summer but the book leads the reader into thinking that there is something very life changing that happed at that party on that fateful day and Melinda refuses to tell anyone the truth.
There are many children who get bullied every single day. Many of those people have life altering challenges that they all have to face. One of the largest problems many of these people have is that they won't tell anyone what is happening to them. Kids and adults are going to the extent of even committing suicide because of the kind of things that people judge them by. To me there is always a reason why certain things change as people get older. Picture back to first grade. Whenever the teacher would ever ask a question every single gitty first grader would be itching to answer the question because they want to feel special. If they got the answer wrong the teacher says ''good try anyway'' and no one ever cares. There is a reason why no kid will ever answer a question in middle school. For everyone there was some question that each person answered wrong a year or two ago that people laughed at because they didn't know. Therefore in middle school there is so much fear of being judged if you answer a question wrong no one ever answers the question.
People get judged everyday and it is getting worse and worse by the minute causing more and more embarrassment for kids and even adults all over the world. We all have had a time where we have judged a person, I have and I sure you have. To stop this problem we have to stop caring so much about how popular or smart people are but start judging people by how good of a person they really are. If we did that I am sure the world for Melinda and all the other people in the would be a much better place to be able to live in.
