Art Piece (The Smoky Thames)

In the painting The Smoky Thames there are two very different parts to the painting. In one half there is daylight and life where as in the other side is darkness and death. As I see the dark clouds come in from the distance I see how disappointment is soon approaching. The side of the city that is filled with greatness and innocence would appear to be in great danger of the angry and powerful darkness. The painting at hand reminds me of the world today as we know it. If you look closer at the city of light and the city of darkness you will notice that the city of light is from the past and the city of darkness is that of the present. You will also see that the darkness is not clouds yet it is the smoke from the modern towers destroying the Earth. That shows the message of the Earth being destroyed by its people themselves and that we need to be aware of the deathining darkness that is ourselves.
